Konica Minolta announces legal milestone in merger with DEVELOP

Company confirms dual-branding strategy Langenhagen, October 1st, 2012. Today the management of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe GmbH and Konica Minolta Business Solutions Deutschland GmbH start to takeover business dealings from Develop GmbH. Their objective is to strengthen their market position with a dual-branding strategy. In time, Konica Minolta will generate business for the brand DEVELOP and engage in a new era of growth with two brands that perfectly complement customers’ needs. The aim of the merger of Konica Minolta and DEVELOP is to achieve an even stronger position in the solutions market for enterprise-wide printing and document workflow in the B2B environment thanks to a common marketing strategy. After completion of the merger, all employees of DEVELOP are now successfully integrated into Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe GmbH and Konica Minolta Business Solutions Deutschland GmbH. The most significant goal for the merger is growth through a targeted dual-branding strategy. Separately managed brands ensure that the requirements of both customer segments are met, helping to exploit the full potential of each segment. A further rationale behind the merger is to increase market penetration by employing a coordinated marketing strategy. Moreover, the merger will ensure sustainable quality improvement by marshaling resources and strengths in the headquarters as well as German sales operations, enabling more effective customer-oriented solutions and professional support. “To achieve this goal, all necessary tasks were successfully mastered in interdisciplinary project teams. An important factor of success was the integration of experiences and capabilities of the employees of both brands. We are convinced that a common and integrated strategy will offer essential benefits to our customers on all relevant dimensions: marketing, sales, and service support. With the strength and knowhow of both brands, we will be successfully prepared for the future,” comments Ken Osuga, President of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe GmbH.
